I roamed through different floors that I never came across before. I came across many paintings of wolves. The paintings looked so old and real. The painter painted it with so many emotions and I felt like the wolf was looking at me with its soul searching eyes.
I stood before a picture where a group of teenage boys were hanging out. They all were shirtless. I spotted a boy with brown hair and blue orbs standing in the middle. It was Alexander his one arm was draped around Aiden. They both looked so young and carefree.
They both were laughing at a guy who was twerking in front of a jet black-haired guy, who looked mortified at the sight in front of him. They all looked so happy.
The picture put a bright smile on my face and I moved to the next picture. It was a family picture. It was a picture of a couple with three little boys. The man looked exactly like a spitting image of Alexander and drake but he had smouldering grey eyes like Drake.
The woman looked so beautiful and graceful. She had ocean blue eyes like Alexander and I noticed that Aiden resembled more like his mother. The three little boys looked so cute and adorable.
Alexander was sat on his mother’s lap while Aiden and Drake on their father’s lap. Alexander was not paying attention to the photographer. He was smiling and playing with his mother’s hair.
This image spread warmth in my chest and I realized that I was smiling without my knowledge. I explored further and finally stopped in front of a room. I twisted the knob and entered it.
The room was well kept and it was a bedroom, many pictures were hanging on the wall. It was a picture of Alexander and a woman. He was looking at her full of love and adoration. Her head was rested on his shoulder. They both looked happy. She looked stunning with jet black hair and green eyes.
In another picture, Alexander was kneeling in front of her, his hands were placed on her baby bump and he is kissing her baby bump with full of love. She was looking at him with a gentle smile. My heart ached for this man and I was sure that it was his mate.
I was a little confused because she looked oddly familiar to me. It was not like she resembled me or something. It was more like I know her but I can’t place my finger on who she was.
“What are you doing here?” I was startled by a deep voice from my behind.
I turned around to come face to face with Drake. He was standing near the door with wide eyes like he was surprised.
“Drake!” I rushed by his side and gave him a warm hug. He hugged me back and we pulled away abruptly.
“I was just exploring this mansion,” I told him anxiously because I was caught in Alexander’s mate’s room. I didn’t intentionally want to explore about his mate it just happened accidentally.
“Come on, let’s get out of here before anyone saw you.” He told me and ushered me out of this room, locking it behind him. We both made our way to the living room and sat on the couch, opposite to each other.
“Why didn’t you show up to the class? Paul told me that you went on a vacation with Alexander, did you, lie?” he asked me with confusion and worry but not with judgment in his eyes.
I told him everything that happened with me and his brother, Alexander. His eyes widened in realization and turned into fury. He grounded his jaw and his knuckles turned white from the clenching his fist.
“I knew something was off and I thought that he was finally moving on with you but I never expected this and I never knew that you were involved in that accident,” he growled.
“If I knew earlier, I swear, I would have stopped it.” He told me with softness in his voice.
“It’s okay, Drake, it’s not your fault and we are good now,” I told him with an assuring smile.
He argued with me for forgiving him easily but the thing was only a person in love knew how hard it was for them to hate the person they love.
Love was foolish because our brain was a captive to our heart.
After Alexander returned home, we both dined together in silence, “Are you alright? You remain quiet today,” he asked me while chewing his food.
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
“I liked the annoying Catherine better than this silent girl,” he teased to lighten the mood. I chuckled softly, “Annoying, huh?” I asked him with a pretended glare which made him laugh.
“Can I ask you something?” I asked him with edginess in my voice.
“Sure,”
“Can I go home? I have a lot of college work to do and my home is closer to the university,” I started to squirm in my seat not looking at him.
