After reaching home we couldn’t afford time for the serious talk. She avoided me, I guess she doesn’t want to talk about it now. I felt okay with that. Maybe she wants some time.
The next morning as we scheduled our reunion at Sandeep’s place. At 12:00 Clock we were finally going to meet. Ruby and I left the place at 10 because Sandeep’s house was far away from Ruby’s place. Ruby seems a bit more excited than me. Because she was too attached to Lucky and Happy. Much more than me. Though sannu and Ruby always faced conflicts between them. Because Ruby had her philosophy and she never listened to anyone’s decision she always believed that life is small and in the last everyone gonna die so fuck it!! And sannu believed that we should respect everyone’s emotions and do what makes others happy. Making yourself happy isn’t a big deal, so let’s make other life easier. And the ruby view on this was apparent. Both were right in their place. We sat in-cab and we left ruby’s house. After half an hour ruby asked the cab driver to make a turn because she forgot to take chocolates for happy. Yes, happy was so fond of chocolates just like chocolate makes a kid happy in similar manner chocolate used to make happy happier… After buying a bunch of chocolates for our happy Singh we moved forward towards sannu house. After an hour we finally reached sannu’s house and we were so excited to see everyone all together. After reaching there we found that the door was open. It felt like it was an occasion or a festival. Because we usually don’t keep our front door open on normal days other than the festival. We found Sannu’s mom standing near the gate to greet us. It felt like we were NRI and back to India after years. She was so sweet with a little daily soup drama. But yeah she was a quiet understanding mom. Sandeep’s dad was also standing next to her and greeted us with a rose. Sannu and Happy were sitting on the sofa and didn’t care about our arrival they were so normal like we meet every day. After seeing this her father said stop pretending boys they are here. Don’t hurt them years after. And both of them jumped towards us hugged us tightly. These 3 years without them felt like a century. I can’t stay apart from them they are my heartbeat. Sannu and Ruby also hugged each other which wasn’t expected and sannu’s dad was in sudden shock he also mentioned that “now I can die peacefully” and we all laughed, he was so funny. Now it was only Lucky who wasn’t here. And we were curiously waiting for his entry because he was not a normal guy. He was so filmy and we all were sure that he gonna make a mindblowing entry. As expected Lucky was here and we can hear the sound of a dog barking on him. Hahaha!!! It was lucky because he was so scared of the dog. And there was a big pyramid of chocolate for Happy Singh. Happy was loved by all of us. And he was such a kid. We somehow managed to rescue lucky from the dog. We all stood up to hug him and as soon as that was done, we continued our lunch. Sannu also joined us. The food that day was very tasty. Or maybe it was just because we were having lunch together alter so long and that made it special. After lunch, we moved to another flat, a few floors above, in the same building. This was the second flat which Sannu’s family-owned and was meant for relatives and friends like us. We were laughing at one of the lucky’s jokes while moving in and were probably still laughing as we fell on the giant couch in the drawing room-upside downflegs on the couch and our torsos on the floor, arms spread across and facing the ceiling; we made ourselves comfortable.
Nobody said anything for a few moments And then it started again with Happy’s big laugh. I guess he remembered some incidents involving Sannu. That evening, the four of us in that flat were having an amazing time. Talking about our past and present. About those not-so-good-looking girls and boys in college. About the movies, we used to watch on our Computer. About our experiences abroad and many other things. So which one did you like more, Europe or the States?’ Happy asked Ruby, getting up. ‘Europe,’ She replied, still lying down and looking at the ceiling.
‘Why?’ sannu asked. He always needed to find out the reason behind everything (though he never gave any reason for not telling us where he went every Sunday, during our hostel days).
‘Europe has a history. The languages change when you leave one country and move to another. The food, the art, and architecture, fabulous public transport, the scenic beauty,
everything is just wonderful in Europe,’ she tried to explain. ‘This is the best thing about IT jobs, ruby. We get to visit different places which we never
dreamt of during our college days,’ sannu said to ruby. We finally spend some time with each other. We played games, fought, and decided never to leave each other. And just in an hour, the night passed so quickly.
