Catherine’s POV~
After he secured my hand with a bandage, he stood to his full height to leave. I too stood from my spot and fisted his sleeves with my good hand. He stopped abruptly and looked down at my face.
“You won’t send me to the dungeon again, right?” I asked him. My voice laced with vulnerability, I began to shift from one foot to the other. I heard him sigh and embraced me with a warm hug.
I immediately stiffened not expecting him to hug me. He rested his chin on top of my head. I was consumed by his muscular arms around my whole petite frame.
My lips were pressed against the centre of his exposed collar bones. I could feel the warmth radiating off him, his scent was intoxicating and my knees felt so weak.
“Alexander…” I murmured against his skin.
“Hmm…” He pulled me further into his chest and hugged me so tight like I was going to disappear into a thin air.
“Are you okay?” my lips softly brushed against his skin.
“Yeah, I’m sorry for sending you there, I won’t allow this again.” He softly whispered against my hair.
“Okay,” I murmured and hugged him back.
He reluctantly pulled away from me and rubbed the back of his neck, “I…I’ll see you around,” he stuttered and walked out of his room.
This man was damn confusing but I loved our little moment.
Since I was hurt, I decided to take a nap. I made my way to my room and changed into my hoodie and sweatpants and decided to take a nap. I lay on my bed and grinned like an idiot. My cheeks heated up, thinking about that one particular blue-eyed man. I squealed and kept on tossing on my bed.
Don’t get your hopes high, Catherine. I warned myself and pulled the duvet up to my chin and closed my eyes.
Alexander’s POV~
The moment Tyra decided her punishment, my heart jumped out of my chest. I knew Catherine was not exposed to manhandling and places like a dungeon. The moment I heard that rogue yelled at her, I rushed to the dungeon with my heart in my sleeves.
What made me so mad was he inflicted pain on my girl. I completely lost it the moment I saw her tears but she tried damn hard not to cry in front of us. She was emotionally strong but physically fragile and I don’t blame her for crying.
I was furious on myself for accommodating with Tyra to choose Catherine’s punishment. Tyra didn’t find her mate yet and she didn’t want to find him because she was fervent on mating with an Alpha.
I was going to give that damn bastard a slow death, unlike the other rogues. As soon as he spat the information about his leader, I’ll give him an excruciating death.
How dare he touch my Catherine?
What was happening to me? Was I falling in love with her like a normal human?
I shifted to my wolf and went on a run to clear my head. This girl was driving me insane. I knew my wolf liked her. He was so curious and protective of her because he knew that she was a good person. He loved her gentleness which was unlike any she-wolves.
After my run, I returned home at dawn. I shifted back into my human form and made a beeline to my room. I took a shower and changed into my sweats. When I opened my bedroom door I saw Catherine trying to tie her hair, her door was wide opened.
When every time she tried she winced with pain, after five minutes, she gave up, stomping her leg like a child and glared at her hairband like it committed the biggest crime.
I chuckled at her in amusement and that startled her. She looked at me with her wide childlike eyes and clutched her chest.
“You scared me,” she accused with a shaky breath.
I invited myself into her room and took her hairband from her left hand which was fine, “Need some help?” I asked her with a smirk.
She gaped at my odd behaviour. Well, I was not complaining because I even don’t understand what I was doing. She nodded her head softly still in a daze.
I stood behind her and gathered all her silky hair in my hand. I gently combed her hair with my fingers and tried to tie it with her hairband.
Damn it, why was it so hard to tie? I think I should twist the band on the other side. I couldn’t back up now. I thought it was an easy job but man! I was wrong.
“Huh…Alexander…What are you doing?”
“Just a second…I was almost…done,” after many twists and turns I finally tied her hair. I took a step back and admired my work.
“Perfect!” I exclaimed with a grin. She took a glance at the mirror and looked amused.
“Thank you,” she told me and tried to hide her smile.
After a year-long, my heart skipped a beat at the sight of this girl’s little smile.
